kettle

They wake us up at 6 AM, without kicking though. My neighbours sleep with no problem. At night, the light bulb burned out. We slept in the dark - no one was causing trouble, everything was nice. A duty officer asked: 'got the bag?' I didn't figure it out, but he was talking about a garbage bag.

They leave it at the door and then a 'balander' (working prisoner who distributes food) takes it. I lend my kettle to other huts - they give us cigarettes, etc. It turns out that Serik is next to me, we gave them the kettle as well. I'm guessing that having 'technology' is respected here.
