  • The Editor-in-Chief of ‘Vzglyad’ newspaper, Igor Vinyavskiy and the leader of “Alga!” Vladimir Kozlov, who were arrested on Monday by officers of National security committee of Kazakhstan, were not even taken to the court – possibly out of fear on the part of the prosecution; both of them were due to have their detainment prolonged today. The judges went to the detention facility for the so-called “out-session”.

  • Following searches carried out at party offices and his house Vladimir Kozlov, leader of “Alga!”, was detained yesterday evening. He was afforded an opportunity to meet with a barrister. However, no-one presently knows what exactly he is accused of. All we know it pertains to article 164, section 3 – the very same law that (activist) Khalyk Maydany, Ayzhangul Amirova and lawyer Nataliya Sokolova were arrested under.

  • Urgent!!! Offices of the unregistered “Alga!” party and the house of Vladimir Kozlov have been raided this morning. The searches are presumed to have been carried out by KNB (National security committee) officers. Attempts to contact Kozlov and other “Alga!” member’s by telephone have been unsuccessful. Our correspondents are currently making their way to the offices and Kozlov house.
