  • Vladimir Kozlov hasn’t been given telegrams containing birthday greetings. Moreover, his lawyer was harshly ‘frisked’ before and after his meeting with the politician: not only were his work papers searched, but also the materials of the criminal case with operational data of the NSC; now that they have gone through the "wrong" hands, their classified status has been comprimised.

  • Today, members of the ‘Alga!’ party and the committee ‘Zhanaozen 2011’ went to the detention facility in Aktau to greet Vladimir Kozlov on his birthday. They brandished placards on which they wished the political prisoner a swift release, health and endurance; they were holding balloons - dozens of balloons.

Alga: ‘All honest people support Kozlov!’, 10.08.2012

  • Civil activists greeted the leader of the unregistered party ‘Alga!’, Vladimir Kozlov, on his birthday. Almaty residents sent greetings by telegram to the detention centre of the city of Aktau where the leader of the party is being remanded. In addition, the civil activist Zhasaral Kuanyshalin decided to personally greet Vladimir Kozlov with a single-person picket.

Respublika: The telegram from ‘Respublika’ hasn’t reached the addressee, 10.08.2012

  • The greetings telegram from the staff of the ‘Respublika’ news website hasn’t reached Vladimir Kozlov, we were told by the wife of the politician, Aliya Turusbekova. Although we actually sent it yesterday. Is it possible that it can take over 24 hours for a telegram to get from Moscow to Aktau?

Respublika: Will Kozlov be denied confrontations?, 9.08.2012

  • The investigation refused the arrested leader of the party “Alga!”, Vladimir Kozlov, additional time to familiarise himself with the accusations and to take part in confrontations. The politician's lawyer considers this illegal and is preparing a complaint to be directed at the prosecutor, which, in theory, should suspend the transfer of the case to the court.

  • “The conviction case” of Vladimir Kozlov was sent to the prosecutor without his signature. It has become known that the politician's wife, Aliya Turusbekova, was refused a permit required to visit Kozlov when she arrived at the investigators' office, and was sent to prosecutors.

Respublika: Will the case be sent to court without the signature of Kozlov?, 8.08.2012

  • Vladimir Kozlov, who is under arrest in the detention centre in Aktau, has less and less time to familiarise himself with the criminal case. He is required to sign the document today, on 8 August, after which the case will be sent to the prosecutor and thence to the court. However, the politician did not have time to read all the volumes of the charges (the case consists of 61 volumes) and it is most likely that he will not sign the protocol within the allowed time.

Respublika: Kozlov was denied the right to a full defence, 7.08.2012

  • Vladimir Kozlov was forced to sign a document confirming his final acquaintance with the investigation materials, although he had read only half of over 60 volumes. But the investigators of the Kazakh National Security Committee are in a hurry to transfer the case to the prosecutor's office, and thence – to the court. Apparently, they are afraid that the so-called witnesses will start to resign from “compromising” the politician.
