Respublika: The only true men are those in NSC detention, 23.02.2012

  • On 23rd February, the Almaty NSC detention centre saw a delegation coming to support and salute the prisoners; it consisted of acting secretary of “Vzglyad” Vladimir Radionov and unregistered “Alga!” party activists. The activists brought along white doves – the symbol of peace – and large posters with salutations.

Respublika: Even more picketing at the NSC detention, 22.02.2012

  • Support actions at the Almaty NSC building are gaining an impetus. Today two of them were held: the first one conducted by the committee in defence of Igor Vinyavskiy, the other – in support of the “Alga!” unregistered party leader Vladimir Kozlov – by an ordinary pensioner. The committee personnel responded with snowballs thrown from the roof.

  • Vladimir Kozlov is following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who suffered repression having been unjustly prosecuted for slander in 1937. This ‘hereditary fault’ was revealed to us by Vladimir Kozlov’s younger brother, Dmitriy. Dmitriy now lives in Russia and holds Russian citizenship, but he has been closely following the Kazakhstan developments and until recently was in active contact with his elder brother Vladimir.

  • The NSC investigating officer leading the Kozlov case has finally reacted to the series of dispersed pickets at the regional NSC buildings, demanding the upholding of the arrested politician’s rights. The spouse of the “Alga!” leader received a reply in the form of a letter, stating that no visits are currently being considered.

Respublika: Polite protests in front of Karaganda NSC, 16.02.2012

  • On Wednesday, in Kazakhstan, a campaign was launched in defence of the rights of the arrested “Alga!” party leader Vladimir Kozlov. Civil activists from regional centres and Almaty picketed the regional NSC departments, demanding the lifting of the ban on parcels to Kozlov’s who remains in detention.

  • Today a second action was held in the recently announced series of protests against violations of civil rights of the “Alga!” party leader Vladimir Kozlov. This time, the NSC building was approached by party activist Erlan Kaliyev with a poster in his hands reading: “Let Kozlov have our parcels”.

Respublika: Three days of picketing in defence of Kozlov’s rights!, 15.02.2012

  • Starting today, Kazakhstan begins a series of pickets at the NSC departments throughout the country. “Respublika” was informed of that by the press services of the non-registered “Alga!” party. The actions are being held in defence of the rights of the arrested politician, Vladimir Kozlov.
